Our vision for the

Mother Nature Spring Camp

This will be our first Mother Nature camp here in the UK. Our vision is to gather mothers, their families and helpers for a few days creating community, being in nature, sitting in circle, singing songs, being creative and learning from each other. There will be time for fun and laughter, quiet and reflection and the magic which comes when you gather people together.

Lead by Mother Nature Facilitator Emma and supported by Looby, Hattie and Siani, as well as and the more than human world, we will gather in rural Herefordshire on the land at Earthworm Housing coop. There are places to camp amongst the trees in the orchard, woods to play in, space for games and large fire pit to gather around at the end of each day, to share stories and sing songs. There are covered spaces too if it is hot or wet!

We will hold intimate Mother Nature Circles, share crafts and skills with each other, take nature walks, swim in the local river, cook evening meals together and spend time creating the supportive community we as mothers crave for us and our families.

Childern

Children are welcomed to be part of the camp and our co-created temporary community, as are partners, family and friends to support mothers to take part. You also don’t need to have children to be part of the camp and we welcome all who mother in some way in the world. Parents will be responsible for their children at all times.

We will all contribute to the camp

As we all know a village is made up of a group of people and our vision is that everyone who comes will contribute to the camp in some way. That might be helping to cook or wash up after an evening meal. It might be leading a song or sharing a story around the fire. You could share a skill or craft or games to entertain children* and adults. You might be a Mother Nature Circle Leader or one in training and be happy to lead a circle during the camp. You might have a brilliant activity or talent to share that we haven’t thought of yet! We welcome suggestions and inspiration.

* Any activities at the camp where children are not supervised by their parents must be lead by those with an up to date DBS check and training or experience appropriate to the activity.

volunteer to help us Run the camp

We are also looking for a few key volunteers to help with setting up and taking down the camp and would love a few people to arrive a bit early or leave later to help with this. We also need people to lead the evening meal prep each day during the camp and help with looking after the infrastructure such as parking, water and rubbish. There is also one volunteer opportunity to help with booking before the course. If you are interested in being a volunteer, we ask you to help for 4 hrs a day and in return you will get a free ticket to the camp

Logistics

Food

As mums and humans we are always thinking about the next meal especially when we are camping with children! Our plan is that every day we will share a child appropriate evening meal together. Everyone volunteer or otherwise will pay a small contribution to the cost of the food. There will be hot drinks available all day and apple juice form the land and other treats for sale.

There will also be optional breakfast and lunches provided (again for a small fee) or you can bring your own - you choose when you book. We will be able to provide vegan & gluten free food and may be able to accommodate other dietary needs too.

Camping

There is lots of space to camp and for a few campervans too. We can also loan tents if you need one. There is also local accommodation - B&B’s and Holiday Homes which you can book separately to the camp.

fEES…coming soon!

We will have a sliding scale of fees for the camp and want to keep it as reasonable as possible whilst covering all the overheads of making the camp possible. There will be 2 charges - one for the camp and one for food (evening meal or fully catered). We also have an * Early Bird Special Offer - 10% discount* offer ending 31 March.

If you are local we will also have day trip tickets on offer too.

However we aren’t quite ready to release the fees yet and hope to very soon.

Times and dates

Arrive from 2pm on Tuesday 26 May - leave by 2pm Friday 29 May
